I was staring up at the sky, camera to face, waiting for one of the birds in the tree to fly away. Can you see it? I wonder if anyone was watching me wondering what I was doing.

I taught myself to make a granny square! It's my first one, so it's a little wonky, but they'll get better.

I have the tendency to shoot dark. I dreamily admire other photographer's whose style has an almost translucent lightness to it, yet it's not how I see or instinctively shoot. I think my "style" (not that I feel I have one) stems from film, how it can be dark and gritty. I miss that rough, grainy feeling of film. I really need to shoot film more.

On a lighter (no pun intended) note, the leafs of my basil plant are huge!
