August 29, 2009

Sorry for the lack of updating this past week. I've been painfully without-computer after I tripped over the charger and broke it. Alas I have a new charger and I'm back!

I want to print this out and put in with this photo I saw this morning. Start a collaborative piece of art with a stranger.

tea!

Grapefruit is delicious, even the feline thinks so.

I churned butter today...in full colonial era clothing. Ok, the kids did most of the actual churning, they get the credit.

Errands, errands, errands! Got some mini grapes along the way. 2 grapefruit, an apple, a nectarine, and bananas too.

Coney Island

Coney Island. If you were there, I was the person you hated for telling you that you weren't allowed in the water. I'm sorry!

Park your car in the "mean streets" of Brooklyn and you might need some extra protection.

Clearly something is missing. I did a double take on my walk to the library and laughed a little.

Does anyone else ever see life happen in snippets, frozen moment after frozen moment telling a story instead of fluid movement? I see it a lot, especially here in the city. I can't really describe it, and I wonder if I'm alone in thinking this.

End of summer BBQ. Grilled corn on the cob is delicious.

I've been fascinated by the silhouette of birds perched in urban environments lately. Perhaps it will turn into a series.

Can anyone identify this caterpillar? Think you got it? Now check out...

...the scale! This is my finger NEXT to, not in front of him.

A much better message than the usual "clean me." Such small things affect me so much; is that a quality of an artist? The simplest thing can bring down my whole day or raise me far above in a state of calm serenity.

HOT day. The light looks crisp here I promise you it didn't feel that way.

Opposite colors and lots of junk mail.

Seeing my name on a book waiting for me at the library is kind of thrilling.

Everything feels flat.

But flowers are pretty and make me so grateful for all the caring people I know.

August 6, 2009

I identified a whole bunch of wildflowers in the past two days, including lady's thumb (my new favorite), soap wart, woodland sunflowers, chicory, goldenrod, and swamp rose mallow!

I'll try and update with pictures.

I might as well not have a reflection. This can't be real. How can something that doesn't feel real hurt so indescribably bad?
