September 29, 2009

After much stress, things are starting to work out...I've got to keep positive. It's surprisingly easy to take few photos on these stressful days, I'll have to work harder to keep shooting.

I want to work here! Thacher State Park. I can't even begin to tell you how good the air felt. Stupid state hiring freeze.

Some pretty horsemint. Aren't whorled flowers, with the flower growing around the stem like that, unusually beautiful?

DARK DAY; I reformatted my camera thinking I had uploaded all the photos and accidentally deleted an entire days images. I HATE digital right now.

Chirp chirp! I made some more pillows today.

September 25, 2009

No matter how old I get, I think I'll always take a lollipop at the bank. After all, it's the simple things that make me happiest.

Look at all that, doesn't it look delicious!

September 24, 2009

Let sleeping plants lay? I'm patiently waiting for my plants to recover from the shock of moving.

September 23, 2009

Goodbye city! I promise to visit you. We'll stay friends.

Walking through midtown with flowers is fun.

Especially when they're awesome coral reef looking flowers!

September 21, 2009

Well good morning to you too Brooklyn!

September 20, 2009

The best part about new places, in this case a friends apartment, is the feeling of newness and seeing for the first time! Pictures just put themselves before me.

September 19, 2009

Ah, the packing process. Everything is now off the walls, clothes in suitcases, and kitchen things in boxes. I keep thinking there isn't much more to go, but somehow I keep filling up more boxes.

Of course she sleeps all day while I'm hard at work.

I don't like the way wide angle distorts lines, yet I keep finding myself pulling the lens out.
Today was a blue day.

September 16, 2009

Champagne in a plastic cup at work = classy.

Thump thump, as per the chef's spatula.

September 15, 2009

I apologize for not having updated in a while! I've been so busy getting ready to move and trying to see people before I do. I'm overly exhausted due to my lack of sleep. I've been trying to make up for it spoonfuls of cookie dough and coffee.
Like I said, coffee!

Waiting for the G train and I spot an angry face staring at me. Do you see it too?

These are the only books I have in ny. I miss the rest of my books.

September 12, 2009

Now I can finally enjoy the city, since I can count the days until I move out on my hands (well almost). It was an experience I would never take back, but in the end, not for me.

p.s. update on this kitten! Col. Winston Cricket.

September 11, 2009

Once the pen and paper comes out, cats instinctually know you want to draw them so they move. Even if they've been sitting comfortably in the same position all afternoon with no intention of moving they will just to spite your artistic endevors. Anyone who's tried to draw a cat knows what I mean, right?

Some sketches I've been meaning to scan:

Travel. Lots of empty time.

September 9, 2009

I picked up a sudoku addiction this vacation.

Let the relaxation continue.

September 8, 2009

So many conifers! This specific tree has to be my favorite.

September 7, 2009

Standing on the sand dune you can see both the beach to your right and mountains to your left.

The pacific! It was cooold, but of course I had to put my feet in.

A perfect day on the coast. My jeans still have sand in the pockets.

September 6, 2009

We took a three hour hike and still didn't reach the top, but it was gorgeous none the less.

Slug! Eugene Oregon is supposedly known for its slugs. Proof?

September 5, 2009

I wish the view out my window felt this calm. Maybe, hopefully, soon...

Eugene shows its love in all the small ways.

September 4, 2009

I'm back! Oregon was gorgeous, as you'll see in the following posts. I had a great week spent exploring, relaxing, and spending overdue time with an amazing friend.

A day of travel means a day of staring at things like this.

So you're still telling me I can't literally sit on the clouds? 'Cause it sure looks like I can.

September 3, 2009

And with this very "new york" image I depart for a trip out to the west coast. I'll be in Oregon for the next week! I'm so excited! I promise I'll keep creating, even though I wont be able to update until I get back. Enjoy your week!

September 2, 2009

...and then I wonder why I'm running late for work. Apparently all that time staring at something beautiful like how light hits a wall or photographing or playing with the cat adds up.

Waiting for the bus. I starting drawing my feet too, but the bus came before I finished...if a sketch is ever finished.

Trying to let the calm tea counteract the fear of Poltergeist. Ten years later, the film's just a scary as I remembered.
