January 27, 2011

There's such a crispness to winter air.

This cat thinks it's better to be inside on a comfy chair then trudging through the snow to take pictures.

January 26, 2011

Self portrait 3/365. I like the look of winter for the most part, but it's a giant challenge to photograph in the dark, cold, short days.

January 25, 2011

I gave blood today. To date I've given a gallon. And coincidentally this time they rewarded donors with a free lb of coffee. Both of those things make me happy.

January 24, 2011

Self Portrait 1/365, year 2. Call me crazy, but I'm starting again. Another year of a self portrait every day. I think I've learned a lot, pushed myself, and become a stronger photographer through this project, so there's no reason to not learn more, push harder, and become even stronger.

January 23, 2011

Self portrait 365/365. I did it! An entire year of self portraits. You can see the whole series here.

January 22, 2011

My sister and I have yet to perfect (or get anywhere close to perfect) the pizza dough shaping technique. Unintentionally, this one came out looking strangely like the United States.

January 21, 2011

It was a beautiful winter day. It wasn't even cold out! And for once, I had the whole day off to actually enjoy it.

January 20, 2011

I got to hang out with this cute guy during a weekly craft night. Unfortunately the craft itself is not quite finished so I don't have any pictures of it yet. I'm sure I'll post some soon.

January 19, 2011

Although it was warmer today then it has been, it wasn't warm enough to melt all the ice that covered every surfaces. I think it looks beautiful.

January 18, 2011

I'm getting much better at digital manipulation and editing. That's one big area this self portrait project has made me stronger in. Of course no matter what I'll always strive for more. Even so, I should be happy with what I've accomplished.

January 17, 2011

My plan is to stay inside and avoid that almost zero degree (Fahrenheit) temperature.

January 16, 2011

Those sea theme pin hole pictures I was working on are now hung up. It only took about 5 months to say I would get to and a couple hours to actually do.

An octopus, squid, and under water plants.

January 15, 2011

Outtake of self portrait 357/365. I'm so close to having taken a self portrait a day for a year already. That's hard to wrap my head around, it seems like I just started.

January 14, 2011

Hi kitty.

I finally got around to making some pin hole images to hang for myself. I'm planning an underwater sea theme for the bathroom, so I began with an octopus.

January 13, 2011

The icicles outside my window are almost as tall as I am.

I put the finishing touches on the felt coasters I was making for an apple themed dinner party tomorrow night. I'm quite happy with how they came out.

January 12, 2011

More snow! And lots of it! I love this weather. Night photography in the snow is fun, except the part when your fingers hurt from the cold.

January 11, 2011

I've been working hard on editing my work for my portfolio. It's a hard process, but it finally seems like I'm getting somewhere and that's a great feeling!

January 10, 2011

I picked up some supplies for a couple future craft projects, but the cat thought the paper some frames were wrapped in were for her. So in a way I picked up craft projects and cat toys in one go.

January 9, 2011

It was cold out today with giant gusts of wind that blew snow around, which the cat found very exciting.

I began work on another craft! It seems I need at least 2 going at a time or I feel unproductive. I'll post some finished pictures soon.

January 8, 2011

The silhouette of a cat looking out a window is one of the most simple, happy, calm images I can think of. I tried to get a better one of this guy, but if I got any closer he came towards me to be pet.

It's about time I started a new craft project. Here's an in progress look at an attempt to paper mache some apple shaped bowls for an apple theme dinner party next week.

I love snow! Everything looks so vibrant and serene in the snow.

January 6, 2011

Each morning I walk 7 flights of stairs a little too early in the morning. About the time I start getting tired I see this dropped napkin and smile because to me it looks like a rhinoceros (minus the horn). Hopefully you get a smile out of it too.

January 5, 2011

I tried to take a self portrait through the windshield as I was scrapping it off, but it didn't come out and surprise surprise I was running out of time and had to get to work! I'll have to try that idea another morning.

January 4, 2011

The light is gorgeous at 4 pm! Now if it would start setting much later in the evening I'd be even happier.

Jauary 3, 2011

Self Portrait 345/365 Outtake. I can't believe it's almost been a year! It feels like I just started this project to take a self portrait a day for a year. It's taught me so much and challenged me to keep finding new ways to show some of the same places, especially now that I'm stuck indoors for winter.

January 2, 2011

This evening I made a "quick" birthday card for my sister. Lesson: sequences take a while to sew.

January 1, 2011

Happy New Years! Self portrait 343/365 outtake.

December 31, 2010

Nothing says getting together with friends like a giant pile of shoes!

December 30, 2010

Tonight I made a couple dozen rum balls for New Years Eve.

December 29, 2010

Eck! I promise after I took the picture I helped the cat not get electrocuted.

December 28, 2010

Snow, lights, and little side streets make for a happy feeling.

December 27, 2010

Now that's what winter should look like.
