June 14, 2009

I went exploring today and ended up walking through Alphabet City, across FDR Drive, and along the East River Promenade. Walking without headphones on (for once) become a much better way to really take everything in. Although I love music (when played through headphones) it can easily become a barrier. I experienced a whole other sense today that makes up a neighborhood. Plus, many more people came up to ask me what I was photographing, smiled and sneaked over to see what I was drawing, and asked directions.

A bad drawing (and bad scan) on the train ride this afternoon

And a throw back to a much better drawing (sent in part, as a letter to a good friend and fellow artist)
