I thought I'd picked the wrong time of year to try to grow marigolds, even inside, but these sprouts are happily speaking up.

I got a new library card today and was a little struck at how strange this library was. Uniqueness aside, their book selection was pretty weak, so I'll probably be finding a different library in the system to call mine.

I haven't read much since leaving the city, but today a cup of hot chocolate and a blanket got me back on track. Now I have hope of finishing that library book before it's due back.

It's fall and mums are everywhere. It's a good thing I love them!

True to my word, I'm finally posting before & after pictures of the furniture I've fixed up. I suppose being unemployed has a few upsides:

I like the new fabric because it has a hand drawn feeling to it.

A new dresser.

Before this side table was in poor condition, now it's a nice place for some games and green (a plant).

A coffee table.

This is the project I'm most happy with. I collected fall leaves from six different trees (I only chose leaves I could identify) and framed them individually. It came out just as I was envisioning, which in my case is a rare occurrence.

Lately my days feel like I'm accomplishing nothing because the job hunt is a lot tougher than I anticipated.

However, I did get out for lunch with a friend and worked a lot on my "new" furniture.

I cleaned my darkroom and made room (added more shelves) for all my negatives and contact sheets. I'm ready to work tomorrow!!!

I have a new car! I'm learning to drive manual pretty quickly...it can be a little frustrating that I can't just do it instantaneously.

So when things get stressful, like signing my name on way too many important papers, it's time to bake. Umm, muffins!
